The 17-year-old driver of the Wrangler, a Boise resident, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. The Pathfinder was towed from the scene. Five Car Crash Near Firebird
A moment's inattention can have serious consequences while driving. From the Idaho Statesman:
Idaho State Police and Ada County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a five-vehicle pile-up crash on Idaho 16 north of Eagle and have closed northbound lanes to traffic.
The crash, which Idaho State police says involves five vehicles, is by milepost 5.3 by the Firebird Raceway. Two motorists were transported to a local hospital for treatment of what are suspected to be non life threatening injuries, according to ISP reports.
Preliminary reports indicate a car traveling southbound on Idaho 16 around 12:45 p.m. hit a Jeep from behind which was stopped and attempting to turn left. The force of that impact cause the Jeep to go into the northbound lane, where it collided with other cars, according to reports.
The accident is still under investigation and no citations had yet been issues as of 2 p.m.
Traffic is moving southbound but northbound traffic is currently closed to allow emergency crews access to the crash.
Car Crashes into Boise Building
Luckily, no one was hurt, but this story illustrates how bad things can happen in a split second. From KTVB.com:
"Boise Police say no one was injured after a car crashed into a vacant business near Emerald Street and Maple Grove Road Monday afternoon.
The white sedan was completely inside the building when officers arrived on scene just after 1 p.m. Police say the woman was trying to pull out of a parking space and put the vehicle in drive instead of reverse. The car jumped a sidewalk and went about 20 feet into the building before coming to a stop.
Keith Wheeler works next door and said he heard a loud bang. At first he thought it was construction workers on the roof, but then came a second loud bang. He was surprised when he learned a crash had crashed into the building.
Luckily, the title company that occupied that space had vacated their offices about a week ago, and no one was inside the building at the time of the accident.
The woman was not hurt and police said no citations are being issued.
There was extensive damage to the building."
